Welcome to Peregrine Woman

Hi!  I live on the Space Coast in Florida.  If you aren't familiar with the area, it is the Atlantic Coast almost directly east of Orlando.  It is called the Space Coast because Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station are both located here.  The Space Coast runs the length of Brevard Country Florida.  Seventy Two Miles from the north end to the south and west to east from the St. John's River to the ocean.

People are always telling me that there is nothing to do here.  I hear all the time that there are no good restaurants here.  Sometimes I hear that nothing ever happens here.  This blog is my response to those comments.  We live in a place where other people come to vacation!  There are hundreds of things to do here, fantastic restaurants, and great venues!

I grew up someplace else, but my wanderlust lead me into the USAF.  I started traveling every chance I got and moving every few years.  Since I retired from the Air Force, I have called the Space Coast my home.  Staying in one place doesn't mean that my wanderlust has left me though.  I still travel when I can, but I do work full time.  When I travel I will blog about that too, but this isn't a travel blog.  It is a blog about living a full life where you live and when you can travel both.  I expect my posts to be 90% Florida and 10% the rest of the world.

I won't post 'best of' lists or write bad reviews. I'm going to be writing about the cool things there are to do here:  The restaurants where I have a good experience.  The neat events that happen here throughout the year.  The venues that support entertainment in the area. The beautiful beaches and waterways.  And maybe sometimes even retail stores or such places where things are new and different.  If I have a bad experience someplace, you won't read about it here.  This is all positive all the time.  I'll be sharing the experiences I have, what I enjoyed about it, what I would do different next time, and what I wish I had known in advance.  My hobby is photography, so my posts will be full of images when possible.

My family and friends live by the idea that experiences are better than stuff.  We are constantly on the lookout for new and different things to do together.  We like to try new things.  This blog will explore the places we find.  Some things you will see in the future are events (Runaway Country (even though they left the county), Surfing Santas, Art Festivals, Street parties, concerts, plays, parades), venues (mini golf, pottery painting, jewelry making, race cars, amusement parks, rock climbing, kids play places), restaurants, beaches, parks, waterways, and anything else I think of to do!

I'm all for spending the occasional free day buried in my squishy couch, binge watching TV and reading good books, but there is a lot of world out there to explore too.  Adventure is out there!  (Yes, I stole that quote from a Disney movie.)

I hope you enjoy discovering along with me.

On Out

Katy
